Coming to the university has to define one of the beautiful moments in my life. The three years has fulfilled and surpassed my expectations, it brings me new friends, new places and new experience. These three years have been mixed of both positive times and challenges which I had already anticipated before starting. The transition from high school to university, for me personally, was a bit difficult. Certainly, I have had an enjoyable time, however, like many other students, I was quite nervous and missed home far more than I expected. It was somehow difficult at the beginning to make friends and I realized that I have to learn to be more independent especially when I have to put myself into four walls with someone I don’t know. I still remember my first lecture where I recognized the two high school classmates and have the privilege to meet them, so I wasn’t totally lost while searching for familiar faces to share the sit with and get to know them more closely. As we went through the syllabus of the lecture we were introduced to the basic elements of English literature. The class let out, I went to discover the other areas of the university. I finally stepped my feet at the cafeteria where suddenly I met a high school teacher who taught me the English subject after a quarter of the time I spend with him I realize that he is teaching spoken English at the university. During these three years, I have given the chance to develop my skills in the field of choice. Three years have been and there will continue to be, many opportunities to learn ways of improving my skills as result of my time school, which I m proud of. For example, the touring session that takes time every Friday has taught me how to be more confident and built good self-esteem by speaking English spontaneously and freely. Besides, developing communication skills, I also gained more knowledge about a variety of literary authors and of kinds of literature. Where I have known about classical writers like Edgar Allan Poe, Kate Chopin, and the many different plays from William Shakespeare. I have also learned more about what a short story, poem and how to tell between them. Also, reading these classical pieces has given me insight into what it was like to live in the author's time period. This helped me to know difference between various methods of story writing. Also, there are other linguistics modules which study how language is built, they were valuable for me to learn as well. For instance I was fortunate to have taken classes in phonetics and phonology during the third year of the university. I had always wanted to know how language is produced. I have learned the process of by which the language is structured and organized. In addition I have learned the process steps which the brain develops during infancy and childhood and in what stages a child develops cognitively and physically. I have toughly enjoyed learning all of this and hope to learn about different stages of a child psychology. I consider this module, education psychology, very valuable and important part of the university experience not only does it allow to understand how their own minds and skills developed but also gives them more knowledge of what a human being can learn . Being at the university has also taught me a lot about culture which delivered in culture studies module. For example I have had the privilege of learning about religions in unfamiliar parts of the world such as Islam, Christianity and Hebrew that I had no knowledge of beforehand. From this experience, I have learned many interesting things about the cultures in which these religions are typically followed; this has also given me a better understanding of others' beliefs and traditions, no matter what region of the world they originated. This made my time in university much more enriching. To conclude, my university life has certainly changed and enriched my life in many ways, it has provided me with the necessary tools to enhance my skills more, taught me valuable knowledge, which enables to hopefully become more successful in life, it also has stressed to me the importance of thinking critically and asking the question in any situations.
